About New Milford KTC

New Milford Karma Thegsum Ch��ling (NMKTC) is a center dedicated to the study of Tibetan Buddhism and the practice of Tibetan Buddhist meditation in the Karma Kagyu tradition. We are one of 30+ meditation and study centers affiliated with Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD) Monastery in Woodstock, New York. KTD is the North American home of the Karmapa, one of the most revered enlightened teachers in all of Tibetan Buddhism. For more about KTD and the Karmapa please see www.Kagyu.org. The Karmapa requested the Venerable Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche to come to the US in 1978 to teach the Dharma and to serve as his chief representative in this country. The Venerable Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche is the abbot of KTD and is the spiritual director of all 30+ Kagyu centers and study groups in the US. All are welcome to join New Milford KTC for weekly meditation, study and discussion of Buddha Dharma and occasional special teachings by visiting Tibetan Buddhist lamas and teachers.
